Dear MSAD #1 Students, Parents, and Staff,
I am writing to provide the community with new information regarding the unspecified threat on the area schools.
At this time, all MSAD #1 schools are no longer in "Secure Mode". The person responsible for the unspecified threat is currently in police custody. All schools will resume their normal school routine and be dismissed at their regular time.
Thank you to the students, staff, and community of MSAD #1 for your cooperation and support.
Dear MSAD #1 Community,
An unspecified threat on area schools has been made to local police. This threat is unrelated to the incident earlier today at NMCC. We remain in regular communication with state and local police.
As a result, All MSAD #1 schools are being placed in "Secure Mode" which means that our school doors will remain locked, students will remain inside the building, and regular school activities will continue for our students. We ask that parents do not come to our schools at this time.
I will be communicating with the community within the hour with additional information. Until then, students and staff will remain in our buildings.
Dear MSAD #1 Community,
Earlier this morning Northern Maine Community College (NMCC) was put in a lockdown. MSAD #1 officials have been in contact with NMCC officials and local law enforcement. We have been informed that the situation that led to the lockdown of NMCC has been addressed, isolated, and under control. There is no threat to any of our students or staff at this time.
Greetings MSAD #1 Families,
Please see the Community Memo from Superintendent Ben Greenlaw.

Dear MSAD #1 Community,
I am writing to follow up from my previous communication related to an individual carrying a firearm on Central Drive. Members of MSAD #1 administration have been in contact with the Presque Isle Police Department. The individual who was carrying the firearm has been located and identified by the Presque Isle Police Department. The individual was carrying two pellet guns that were picked up out of a dumpster in the area. There is no threat at this time.
Thank you to the administration and staff of Presque Isle Middle School for responding professionally and effectively on very short notice. Thank you to the students of Presque Isle Middle School and their parents for your cooperation and understanding.
Dear MSAD #1 Community,
There was a person seen walking with a firearm on Central Street in Presque Isle at approximately 2:00 pm this afternoon. There is no immediate threat and Presque Police are on the scene and are providing an additional safety presence at Presque Isle Middle School.
As a precaution, all after-school activities taking place at Presque Isle Middle School today are canceled. Students will be put on their regular buses as they normally would. All students not taking the bus need to be picked up by their parents or guardian. Please pick up your child in the parent pick-up area at Presque Middle School, located behind the school. Walkers will not be permitted to leave the building and will need to be picked up by their parent/guardian.
Additional information will be provided by MSAD #1 administration as it becomes available. Thank you for your cooperation at this time.
